Ottawa Valley Section

Welcome to the Ottawa Valley Section!

The Ottawa Valley Section (OVS), representing forest practitioners across Eastern Ontario, is in the unique situation, being in Canada's National Capital Region. Our membership works towards educating the people of Ontario and Canada about the dynamics forests ecosystems and their importance to our health and well-being. The CIF-OVS has almost 100 members spread out over Eastern Ontario from Pembroke and Deep River in the north to the St. Lawrence Seaway communities of Cornwall and Belleville with some members in New York State (see map of section area ). Our membership includes men and women in a diverse array of occupations all related to forestry. In 2003 the Ottawa Valley Section received the CIF's Section of the Year Award to recognize the outstanding involvement of members in the affairs of the CIF/IFC that can result in increased awareness of the importance of forestry in Canada.
