Ottawa Valley Section
Our Ottawa Valley Section recently held its annual general meeting and a special seminar focusing on green-building on June 12th, 2008 at the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority’s new building 
Ottawa Valley and Algonquin Section hold a joint event!
Alf Van Dyke, Planning Forester for the Ottawa Valley Forest (OVF) describes how forest operations are managed in red oak-poplar mixed stands to a group of public and CIF members at a May 3 2008 Algonquin Section/OVF joint field trip. White pine, poplar and red oak are the most common forest stands in the Ottawa Valley Forest.
Al Stinson, Algonquin Section CIF Director shows childern on a recent public field trip how to identify white pine. Even though the weather man had predicted 100 % of rain all day twenty six people attended the field trip and kept dry!


Armenian Foresters Visit the Canadian Institute of Forestry
As part of Tree Canada's "Building International Bridges for Forest Futures" program, Armenian Foresters visit the Canadain Ecology Centre. They were taken on a field tour of uniform shelterwood management in the Mattawa, ON area.
